The MT79332 is an active power factor correction single-stage primary side control AC-DC LED driver. The on-chip PFC circuit in the MT79332 runs in critical conduction mode (CRM) to achieve high power factor and lower power MOSFET switching loss. Precision LED current is obtained using MAXIC’s proprietary control approach, which eliminates the need for a secondary side detect and feed back circuit, which includes an optocoupler. The peripheral circuit is reduced because to the use of 600V power MOSFETs. To ensure system reliability, MT79332 has several protections such as over-current protection (OC), overvoltage protection (OVP), short circuit protection (SCP), and above temperature protection (OTP), among others.
